Consult Your Provider About Medications. If you are taking antibiotics, retinoids, or other medications that cause photosensitivity, inform your provider as some may need to be paused before treatment.
Arrive with Clean Skin. Wash your face with a gentle cleanser before your appointment and avoid applying makeup, lotions, or oils.
No Sun Exposure or Tanning. Avoid sun exposure, tanning beds, and self-tanners for at least 2 weeks prior to reduce the risk of hyperpigmentation or burns.
Stop Using Active Skincare Ingredients. Discontinue retinoids, AHAs/BHAs, glycolic, salicylic acid, benzoyl peroxide, and exfoliating scrubs 5-7 days before treatment.
Pause Antibiotics if Advised. Some antibiotics may increase photosensitivity. Consult your provider if adjustments are needed before treatment.
Avoid Chemical Peels or Other Laser Treatments. Do not undergo aggressive facial treatments for 3-4 weeks before the session to prevent excessive skin sensitivity.
No Waxing, Plucking, or Threading. Avoid any hair removal method that pulls hair from the root in the treatment area for at least 1 week before treatment.
Limit Alcohol & Caffeine. Reduce intake 24 hours before to help minimize skin redness and sensitivity.
